What the hell happened?

Why did they bring it back?

Who wrote this travesty?

Who in the hell did the casting?

These are the questions that ran through my head as I watched episode one of the new series of Scrubs.

Don't get me wrong, I love(d) Scrubs, it's one of my favourite comedies of all time. It was consistently good, often genius and ended on a high.

In the new series though the Hospital is now a university for some reason???? With all of the old faces now teachers???? JD is now back from the Hospital he transferred to, Carla is gone and Elliot is Pregnant.

The main problem is though that the writing and casting are terrible, it's so flat and dull, even a Dr (Proffessor) Cox rant is now unfunny. There is a new woman who gives the Monologues to replace JD but she is unbelievably st.

The only decent new addition is intern Denise (from series 8 who is fit and funny) and an Australian student who Cox takes the piss out of for her accent.

In summary though you can add Scrubs to the pile of once great comedies that went on too long and aren't funny anymore. It'll be joining The Simpsons, King of The Hill, Bo Selecta etc etc.

Shame really.

Not seen this series yet, but love the reat of them. The Americans tend to do this with all thier shows, there than quitting when they're ahead they'll just keep going until the viewing figures drop off and then cancel it half way through a series.

I gave up after series 6 - it just got a bit tedious; the fantastic episodes of the earlier series were never repeated with the later series, instead just relying on circus like tomfoolery rather than the clever humour of old.

I've aqquired Series 7, but I just can't bring myself to watch it and ruin my memories of old.

I'm going to watch the first two new ones in the next few days. Not expecting much to be honest. Was disapointed to hear they were doing another series as the ending of the last season couldn't have been any better. I think this wil have to be scrubs 'Rocky V'- Good but not good enough.

I too was shocked when I watched the first 2 episodes, but even as light entertainment it still works I think - plus there are some nice new ladies on display (the blond Aussie cloud9)

As usual Dr. Cox is still the star or the show...

They still make that? I thought it stopped about 12 years ago!

Not on sky, online, aired in the US on Dec 1st.

I absolutely love Scrubs, a proper upbeat comedy. I thought the new episodes were pretty good, I was entertained and they introduced new characters, although the unconfident blonde is a bit of a pain.

I like Denise, she's grown on me, I also liked the surgeon from the last few episodes of season 8, Derek, he seemed a good character, hopefully will appear again.

The Aussie's a nice piece of eye candy.

It's still got Kelso, there's less whining from Jordan and Eliott, all is good for me!

I will still watch Scrubs mainly for....

but also...

He should have his own series. One of the best characters on the show.

But Scrubs itself jumped the shark around the time of the "Fairy Tale" episode and then again with the recent dreadful Jan Itors wedding episodes.

Now How I Met Your Mother..quality and you still get Sarah Chalke

Don't worry I won't.

I practice what I preach and I won't be watching any more. I had to watch one episode to make a judgement obviously.

I definately won't turn into one of the PH cretins/spaks/retards/idiots who watches something for Seven years complaining every single week about the same thing.

Check and indeed mate.

Good news. I don't fall into that trap of 7 years. And I don't complain about every show.

And even more good news. Defintely not your mate smile

I love scrubs

A housemate introduced me to it around 3 years ago and its just tops

Fully admit is hasnt been as good since about Season 5, but still enjoy it

Best episode ever for me (putting aside Elliots tits for a moment) has to be when Ben died and Cox was making out like him and JD were going to his sons birthday party and JD says "where do you think we are?"

They turnj round, and its Ben's funeral

Knew how to do the bitter sweet stuff to perfection in the early seasons

Yep that episode was Scrubs at it's finest, had the genius bit were Cox pays a tramp to be his alarm clock by shouting 'Beep Beep Beep' in his ear.

I've watched Scrubs since the very first episode was shown on C4 and was pleased with the 'ending' they did at the end of Seaon 8.

Why they brought it back with this re-hashed shadow of it's former self is just beyond me. Just money taking president over pride in their work.

Yup, I'm into this as well, can't be a bad series to have Britney Spears in it, and Sarah Chalke. Neil Patrick Harris is just awesome in it too.

Shame they finished this series and it will only be on once a week when it returns in a few weeks though.

It's written by a new guy. The original writer is writing a new programme that will have JD and Turk in it (Not as JD and Turk though) which kind of explains a bit. Sort of....

I have to say & its a little bit sad to admit, that HIMYM & QI are the only two programmes I get cross if I miss these days. I think its really good to have a sitcom with a continuous cliffhanger story line and it still be very funny. Yes its a bit of Friends rip off but Lily & Robin are very nice eye candy and Barney is a great character. Pathos as well in the last episode with Barney in all that plaster and they were talking about his life flashing before his eyes and Robin walked in, very good. Britney did her little bit well too, wonder how they got her?

Waiting for the next series basically.
